Encrypted sync across your browsers (Pro, optional)
- Pro can now keep saved projects, the component library and BOM rows in step across browsers and devices. It is off until you turn it on from your account page.
- Your data is encrypted in your browser before upload (AES-256-GCM, with a key protected by a sync passphrase that only you know). Our server stores only ciphertext and cannot read it.
- When you set it up you get a one-time recovery code: it unlocks your data if you forget the passphrase. If you lose both, nobody (including us) can decrypt the synced copy; data on each browser is not affected.
- Edits from two browsers are merged; if the same item changed on both, both versions are kept.
- Change your passphrase, download a decrypted copy, or delete the synced copy from our server at any time.
- If Pro ends (cancellation, expiry or refund), sync becomes read-only: you can still download your synced data for 90 days, then it is deleted. Synced data not updated for 400 days is deleted automatically.
Privacy: Privacy policy updated: section 1 now says your data is not sent to us unless you turn on encrypted sync, and a new section 2 “Optional encrypted sync (Pro)” describes exactly what is stored (encrypted data, encrypted keys, size, version, last-updated time, and timestamps and counters used for rate limiting and deletion, under a one-way hash of your license key) and when it is deleted. Sections 2–8 became 3–9. Terms of service updated: a new section 5 “Optional encrypted sync (Pro)” covers how sync works and how long synced data is kept. The no-ads, no-third-party-analytics, no-tracking-cookies commitment is unchanged.
Saved projects v2, BOM cart files and My component library (Pro)
- Saved projects: reopen and edit any saved calculation, add notes and revision labels, duplicate, and back up or import everything as one JSON file.
- BOM: download cart/upload files for LCSC, DigiKey and Mouser with MPN and LCSC part-number columns.
- My component library: your own LEDs, batteries, parts and on-hand resistor values, usable in the calculators and the BOM.
